Good luck, Bill! Out over the water, oceanic airspace, no VFR aircraft above 5500 feet, no need to see and avoid, so maybe it's a good time to set alarms and log some sleep.
Do you still log PIC if you're sleeping?

Hmmmm.........I wonder what has happened? No word on the flight all week. I hope everything is ok. I assume its just a wait for better weather, but how long will he stay there and wait? It was supposed to clear up some, 2 days ago.

Puenta Arenas-Key West 27+06...landed 1801 UTC today. I guess polar flight now definitely on hold. Info from Spider Tracks shows he flew the trip at FL115 with not much help from the wind.

Hey, that's not far off. We should be watching FlightAware maybe. Bill

Around the time of the fall equinox the weather down there starts to improve as they head into spring, but going too late in spring means bad weather as it gets closer to winter on our side of the planet..... so the time around the equinoxes would seem like the best time. Well, I don't know what he's doing but he's been using 6ZQ quite a bit lately. Today he flew down to northern Florida.

Looks like he's left the country in N6ZQ again! Currently approaching Curacao (TNCC) on a 5 hour hop from BCT in Florida. Yesterday it was Stafford, VA to BCT. I wonder if this is the beginning of a southward trek or just a tropical island vacation. 5 hours is a "short hop" in that plane!

He doesn't seem to be using his Spidertracks beacon anymore..
