Hey y’all, my name is Jackson and flying the Baron is my day (and night,) job. I work for a small 135 in the South East. I fly medical cargo, on-demand cargo, medevac organs, passengers, and basically whatever else Flight Control puts on my schedule.
I’ve got over 300 hours in the Baron since September, and probably 50 or so in the Bonanza.
I’m happy to be here, and looking forward to learning as much as I can about the plane that I get the privilege of spending quite a bit of time in!

Freight doggin' in a Baron, a rare gig these days!
On FlightAware I've seen a few late night Baron operators, Axio, Kalitta II and GTA... I sometimes wonder what they're hauling? In my day it was canceled bank checks, but that industry has all dried up...

Jackson, there is nothing you could do that will have a greater impact on your flying than what you're doing now. It is the hardest flying there is, and the greatest learning experience you can have. Enjoy it.

The kids that go from Riddle to an RJ to an A320, they don't even know what they don't know. They have no real experience, no "seasoning"... I'd rather fly with a freight dog any day; they know what's up. My last C-310 check run was in Jan '93; it's been a minute, but I still look back on that flying and miss it. It'd be seriously cool to be able to revisit and do it again some day... but, could I get paid B737 captain rate for that Baron time? Oh, and I don't wanna fly 'em in ice again. Or thunderstorms. And do I have to be up late over Des Moines at 0100??
