This is a 737 that fly's between Las Vegas and Area 51. Tonight they were coming back at 14,500' and 395 knots ground speed. That seems to be moving pretty fast for that altitude. Anyone work for them?

That’s engineers for ya.

The “device” results in these speeds heading home and 110kts on the way to work.

I’m pretty sure that anybody on those planes can’t comment on anything associated with them. Source: knew a guy who lived in Vegas and worked for a contractor in the area.

Factor a 2% true airspeed increase for each 1000 feet of altitude, and they had an indicated of about 300 knots, probably not all that fast in a 737.

I'd like to have their frequent flier miles. :D

That's not an unusual speed for a jet at that altitude.

They're just plain jane 737's bringing people to/from work. Not sure why people think it's some big secret operation.

I've always figured if they wanted to be so super secret, they wouldn't be using LAS for their operations. There are more than a few military bases around they could use instead.

Are you sure they don’t have the anti-grav mod?

Looks like they come and go VFR. No problem here. Radar services terminated, have a good day.

I just watched a Janet flight (25) heading toward Area 51. It's transponder was pinging until it turned final for the runway at 7,675'. I don't think they turn them off, they just get too low to be picked up.
