Sadly, that was groundspeed, not TAS...he picked up 20mph when he turned SW, then lost it when he turned back NE. Seems like he's a pretty consistent 125-130kts at that ???% power setting.

When he was in Valdosta his initial ROC was 600-700 fpm for the first minute or two. Today the data only showed one hit of 500 fpm. Everything else was lower. Clearing the airport perimeter fence at a 4000’ MSL airport should be pretty exciting.

Meanwhile in this months EAA Sport Aviation... This guy has almost made the plane, with no fanfare. Falcon Turbine Attachment: falconturbine.jpg 188 Kts, 18-19 GPH @ 12,000 90 Gal fuel.

So, there’s a new video up. If I understand correctly, PM plans to fly the his creation to KTWF. In the last 24 hours, the DA at KTWF never dropped below 5000 feet. Raptor can’t produce a triple digit climb rate at 4000 feet. I guess that is THE destination, so if he makes it there, he won’t need to take-off again. Everything should work out OK, then.

Falcon Turbine
188 Kts, 18-19 GPH @ 12,000 90 Gal fuel. "Almost made the plane"?  I think this is the 3rd turboprop Velocity that's been made. Performance is a bit disappointing. But at least he'll be able to go higher than a piston engine. I got 199kts, 13.5GPH @ 8,000' with 90 gallon tanks.

Don,
I think he means the raptor already almost exists. It is called a Velocity. It is better by geometric margins.
Can you start a velocity thread. I am intrigued by them.
Can they be deiced? Is the Canard really greatly effected by rain? How much baggage is there?
