I was at Hayward today. It’s a Cirrus Service Center. There was 5 vision jets there. Asked and they said all 105 got grounded yesterday because of bad AOA probes. Have five hours to ferry to maintenance. Can anyone find something on this. I did a quick search and found nothing.

I wonder if they got a good deal from the same folks that sold the probes to Boeing!

It’s a mandatory service bulletin. Jeff beat me to posting it. All the planes are under warranty so bulletins have to be complied with. In the email it says the probes are in low supply but Cirrus is working diligently with its supplies to get more. The bad probes were giving faulty signals causing shaker and other things to go off.

Lower cost sometimes equals lower quality. ...and now we know what happens.

Dang. So I’m wondering in the world of automation do these AOA indicators do more harm than good? I mean I get it’s value from a visual aspect but to tie it into the Autopilot. No thanks.

On the circuit boards they didn't use a protective coating to save money. There's a problem with the lock when the airplane sits outside in rain. If you look at the photos there is a slit under the door handle where the lock comes up. Because of this rain gets in and gets carpet in baggage area wet. A few planes have had corrosion on some of the boards from condensation. The only fix I see is replacing everyone's baggage door.

My concern is supply chain. If they are used to only 2 per week at most, how are they going to come up with 105 and how long will that be? I am not getting any straight answers other than you are still on track for the new delayed date. I hope so!
