Hi my name is Walter Civitico. I am not a Beech owner or even a pilot but have had a deep interest in aviation all my life and have just retired from 40 years of Air Traffic Control.
I joined this group to see if I could access some resource materials to assist me with my hobby.. aircraft modelling. I have built a couple of Beechs:

From The Minicraft 1/48 kit

I also wanted to model a Baron but no kit in any scale exists, so I did what Beech did and converted a 1/48 Minicraft Bonanza into a Baron (a "B" model). I will model a "C" soon.

Walter,

Welcome! The models are awesome, especially the Baron! How did you do the conversion?

I remember seeing some German resin conversion to turn the Academy V-35B into an F-33A on eBay years ago, but have never again been able to locate one. I am still kicking myself for not buying it.

Drew

Hi Drew, the build is blogged here:
http://www.aussiemodeller.com.au/forum/ ... f=8&t=3070

doing the straight tail conversion is quite easy using plastic sheet..time consuming but easy

cheers

Dam those look nice. I have trouble with stick figures so it is always even more impressive to me what artists can accomplish.

Welcome Walter,

It appears we both have the same hobby, although I tend to build a bit bigger. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=56906&p=574526&hilit=T34C#p574526

Strewth Wally, fancy you turning up on here. You were the travelling ATCO when we did the London-Sydney trip in 2001. I had only just bought my A36 but hadn't picked it up so we were flying Mike Starts Saratoga G-LLYY. I had lunch yesterday with Philip Crew and Don Green who were in the Malibu G-CREW.

Best of luck with your retirement, I think that waypoint Wally is still in the Indian Ocean off Pakistan.

Will

Welcome Walter,

I think you should drop in a few pics of the others you have built.

Between you and my mate Aye Ess the skills of art are immeasurable.

Great stuff

They look great. The first one looks rather similar to my avatar :bud: (although we have now got a 3 blade prop)

Hi Will,
Long time no see! that waypoint lasted one day only I think, I have a picture of our Titans GPS navgear showing that waypoint somewhere in my album. Aviation is a small world!

well how about that! do you want a model of your bird? I think I have a three bladed prop to whack on her and can print a new stripe without the DOA "sticker"

cheers

Walter,

That is a rather impressive collection, I love the attention to detail.
What do you enjoy more, the finished product, the building....
