Ross, if it was an Amphib it wouldn't need a trailer.  This one is a Cub seaplane. It's fun to watch that launch. I'm guessing the pilot has to be very precise with power and flight control inputs as the speed increases.

We have so many lakes and warm winters here in Florida you never really see this kind of launch. hangs head in shame

How would that work at a towered airport? Pilot: Pontiac tower, Piper X holding short runway 27R , requesting departure northbound VFR, second request for my tow vehicle, he would like taxiway Delta back to Waterford. Tower: Tow vehicle? Whut?
