Hi, my name is John Arcuri and I recently acquired a 1966 Debonair from the west coast. This is my 2nd Beechcraft airplane- I owned a 1977 A36 for a number of years before having to sell it to put my daughter through college. I fly as often as I can out of Plymouth, MA (KPYM). My most recent longer trips were to Champaign, Il (KCMI) to visit RTC and just got back from KOXB (Ocean City, MD). I have been looking at BT for a long time and have learned much about flying and maintaining these wonderful airplanes. Thanks for having me and I look forward to contributing and continued learning.

Thanks Rick. I bought N7891L out in California after looking for about 2 years. I was looking for the C33A because it had the IO520, this particular plane had only 2300 hours since new and a factory reman with about 550 hours and a custom instrument panel. The owner had it painted in Nevada and I put in a new interior and upgraded the 530 to WAAS and the Garmin 396 to the 496. I was careful to get a good pre-buy with Dave Monti out in Minden, NV.
It has gami's and I do run LOP with a JPI EDM 800 with fuel flow. I see about 160 TAS burning about 13.5 gph at 23/2400 in the 5000-7000 foot range. I am enclosing some pics. Happy hunting! :)

Nice John,

Have fun. I've had both the IO-470K and the IO-520 in my Deb. It's definitely more fun to fly with the 520.

I performance numbers agree within a few knots at the same FF. Two bladed McCauley here.

Regards,

Thanks for all the kind words! :)
Paul, I have a 3 bladed Hartzell. Do you run LOP or ROP?

John,

I run LOP except on climb to altitude. There I run WOT, 2700 RPM and a target of 1350 EGT (23+ GPH at SL).

Have fun.

Thanks Paul. Me too, WOT full rich 2700 till 1000 then 2500. I think I see 26 gph on t.o and about 23 in the climb till altitude. Have you had any cylinder issues running LOP?

John,

Last annual my mechanic said the plugs looked great. I think my lowest cylinder was 75 psi. Of course, who knows what's in the future with Continental cylinders, but so far so good.

Engine seems fine LOP. I watch my cylinder temps go down as I pull the mixture and the smoothness of the engine doesn't change much. We did a GAMI spread test after the initial set of injectors were installed and a couple of cylinders were adjusted by .5 gph.

If you're in the PA area, PM me, I'd like to see you A/C.

Regards,

--paul

Thanks Paul. I'd love to stop by and show you my plane and check out yours as well.
Don't get into the PA area often but KDYL is only about 1.5 hours from my location.
Do you ever do any of the NE ABS get-togethers? I haven't yet but I'd like to.

John,

Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to get involved with any of the local ABS groups. Sign of the times, I guess.

Thanks to all for the welcome. I've enclosed a couple of more pictures. I am trying to figure out the best size for these photos.
