This is a pretty finny ad that I found on Controller. I'm sure the wife is thrilled about all of her kids learning to fly in this thing. Sounds like all three kids should be totally prepared to fly a Bonanza after their door popping experiences!
The following is copied from the ad:

General Information
I bought this to have my Kids taught to Fly now we are moving up to a 172

Detailed Description
I took possion of this airplane in October and we have put 80 hours on it. We have had two door open incidents and the last one the door departed the aircraft and landed in a school yard near some kids playing basket ball. A new door is ordered and I beleive that Cessna will provide an improvement on how the door is attached to the airframe so this will not happen again. I have attached a few photos of the door after it was recorvered. My wife insisted that we upgrade to a reliable late model 172, 2006 or newer

Do you think maybe he's not really trying to sell it, but rather open negotiations with Cessna for a buy-back?

So...

1) Does the door departing the aircraft get classified as "Damage History?"

2) Where is the "Made in China" stamp?

The 162 was a great concept that failed in execution. Aren't there 3 places where it's assembled in the US?

I honestly don't know. I loved the sky catcher simply because I saw it and thought 152 with a little umph. I did my primary training in a 150 swept back with one radio and not much else and loved it. Wish more were still in the flight schools. Great "weed em out" plane as it's bouncy, pushy, and wobbly. Really learned stick and rudder with that little plane.

"Honey, I put the ad in Controller and we haven't gotten a single serious call. Must be the economy."

This !

Sounds like someone who is simply ticked off and is trying to create some leverage in his negotiations for a later model 172.

Maybe he doesn't really have a 162 but he's trying to sell a 172. He's posted an ad to potential 162 buyers saying, "a 162's a cheap junk. Buy a late model 172 instead."
