Hello everyone, my name is Kent Bummert. Signed up a few weeks back an I've posted on a few threads and then I saw the Introductions topic. My wife and I live on Holland Airpark located 10 miles north of La Crosse, WI. We own a 1964 D95A Travel Air with the Doyn conversion. For those of you who don't know about the conversion, Doyn Aircraft converted only 6 TA's by installing Lycoming IO-540-C1B5 250 hp engines with either 2 or 3 blade Hartzell props. At 7,000 to 8,000 ft it will true out at 190 kts on 25 - 26 gph fuel burn. Also with the large cord flaps set at approach and 2 people with full fuel, it will unstick and climb out using around 700 ft of runway. I'm an A&P IA and airline pilot with close to 20,000 hours and 6 type ratings. I started at the same airline I work for now (along with a few mergers) 33 years ago as an A&P line mechanic working on Beech 99's. At the same time I got my multi-engine rating in the TA that I now own. After moving to the airpark in 1998, I began a 4 year restoration where it would take too long to list everything that I did. If anyone is flying by, we sure do enjoy having visitors and have plenty of hanger or ramp space. Kent Bummert Attachment: N816G 012.jpg

Kent, welcome to to BT. I agree with the gaggle-you have a nice looking bird.
My wife & I stopped in at Holland Airpark several years ago so she could get a ride in Allyn Kaste's Hatz. This was to determine if she was comfortable in an open cockpit biplane before we went ahead & built one (she was & we are). I saw my Dad's old 172 (N5995A) sitting on the ramp, too. I'll stop in sometime for some hangar flying.
