I've had my V35A for nearly three years, and 235 hours. Private ASEL, instrument rating. Soloed at Chino as a college kid in the 70's then didn't fly for almost two decades until I decided in the late 90's that flying into Silicon Valley was better than the long drive from the Sierra gold country.

This Bonanza represents my complex and high performance experience, my prior ~900 hours were in C150's, C172's and 160/180HP fixed prop Cherokees. My first flight in it made me seriously doubt my sanity in writing the check... but by the end of the 10 hour checkout and endorsements, I was keeping up with it, most of the time. It was preparing for and taking an IPC ride that made me appreciate just how easy it is to fly.

Panel highlights are MX20, WAAS CNX80, KCS-55A, GPSS, STEC62, GEM, Trig 1090ES w/traffic. Finally installed Alpha inertial reel shoulder harnesses after yet another senseless death (Las Vegas last Fall) got me moving on it.

Without a doubt, for personal GA, a Bonanza is the best bang for the buck if you're trying to get somewhere. I love Cherokees, especially at annual inspection time, but the flying just ain't the same!

I've known about Beechtalk since it's earliest days, and visited from time to time, but chose to mostly stay away, as I have from other forums... I think the limitations of the format hobble its usefulness. Will continue to visit from time to time, but logged in.

HI Greg,

Thanks for introducing yourself.. I certainly appreciate your input on the GNS-480 list and I am sure you have great info to offer here.

You are going to get one of these:

"This thread is useless without pictures"

and

"Put your location in your profile"

Of course you already knew that, but us NorCal guys want to know :D

Kevin

Hello, Greg Goodnight.

May I extend to you a hearty welcome.

I've been here from the beginning, exclusively, and because of that I have missed your fine posts and expert opinions that I was privileged to read on another forum. I look forward to you sharing your wisdom and experiences, which will be greatly helpful in enlightening us here.

So, post often when limitations of the format don't hobble its usefulness for you.
