Just within the last few months started reading this discussion board. I am the proud owner of a 1968 BE-33. I originally partnered on this plane in 1984. My former partner and friend passed away almost two years ago so now I am the sole owner. My wonderful wife and I decided that we wanted to continue flying for a number of years longer and need to do an extensive upgrade to 7150N as this is "our" plane (none other could ever take it's place). We first discussed our project with some of the fine folks at ABS and they were kind enough to sit down with us at OSH last summer to consult and advise us on this undertaking. So far we have had an IO550B and Super Semitar prop installed. Right now she is in the avionics shop receiving a new glass panel; interior and paint will come later. The picture I am trying to post was taken at Falcon Field in Mesa last month on the first long flight with the new engine. I really look forward to meeting you all here and have already benefited from reading your posts on panels and engines. Greg Stratz has been a excellent resource for engine power management. Last I talked to you Y'all were headed south, how did that new engine perform LOP? We had a great trip and were able to attend the BPPP in Tucson while we were there. I have done some LOP work and found the methods you describe to certainly have merit. I think when we get our plane back from the shop I will want to do the GAMI fuel flow check on the tuned Continental injectors. I suspect that I may have an excessive variation of fuel flow between injectors.
