Marc….. looks beautiful. Doesn’t seem to have any performance benefits ? I thought Daher might have come up with something to compete against the new EPIC. 5.82 is quite the acquisition cost!

Yet they sell ! Myself, Iam thinking that could buy a lot of jet charter time if a person didn't need too many hours per year.

From AIN: Quote: Meanwhile, the cabin features enhancements for passenger comfort. In the six-seat cabin, Daher is now offering the ability to install a Starlink Mini terminal for satellite-based internet connectivity, along with 100-watt USB-C ports for charging mobile devices. Passenger displays for the TBM 980 have also been upgraded to show en route flight data. So… how are they “installing” the Starlink? Just putting it in a window? Do they have a composite panel somewhere it can get connected through? Or what? Would be interesting to see what a manufacturer came up with for an “install” of a portable device.

Someone has already made a replacement glareshield piece with a recess for the antenna and a clamp to hold it in place. I would imagine they just did something like that, since it is mentioned as a way to install the antenna "in the cabin".

Nice solution, all that's left is arguing about the proper approvals for documenting and installing it -- not an issue for the factory. I understand it was done by "Stellar Aviation".

Yeah, very nice. I like that (it appears) their glare shield is segmented so the replacement pice slots in that segment. One thing I think all glare shield solutions need to resolve somehow is the pretty significant hit to visibility on that side due to the reflected white surface of the SL. Mine included, but I would hope that perhaps a mfr option might have considered it. Would be nice to see how they solved it. The black silicone covers do make the thing run a fair bit hotter.

Could just paint it black with the same metal-free paint they use on radomes.

Could just paint it black with the same metal-free paint they use on radomes. It will just absorb the heat via the paint. A black cover with an air gap would likely work. I have tested the heat tolerance and it's actually quite resistant to overheating.

I never really understood how Socata could fetch >$5M for a TBM960...
And then I went to see my buddy Joe Lescota at Atlanta Turbine, my wife Amy walked into the hangar, there sat a brand new 960. She went to that airplane like a moth to a flame. I was in shock... my wife has been around all kinds of airplanes, she's been with me for new deliveries, new King Airs, new Citations, new Phenoms... she's never lit up at the sight of an airplane, at any price level.
So, I still can't explain it. I don't get it. I would way rather have an M2, but there is a there there.
