I have to chuckle a little. Here's what the listing got wrong.

1) registration has been changed to a "vanity plate" with owners initials.
2) engine time 515 not 285
3) prop time 506 not 285
4) location Texas not Florida
5) Total time is now closer to 3600 hours rather than 3300.
6) No Known Damage wrong. Improperly installed washer on wing spar retaining bolt repaired.

However unlike many many other planes I have looked at this owner flies often (which I like a lot), has spent a fortune on avionics including a recent addition of 2 Gi 275s, and spares no cost on maintenance.

Clearly the broker has a lot to learn regarding the importance of keeping his ads up to date, but from what I can tell there was not and is not any attempt to hide something bad.

Some people are just picky and suspicious, a misrepresented plane could be malicious or just a lazy broker. Looks like this one was the latter and hopefully you got a deal on it after OP passed on it.

That's an extremely low time cherry machine on paper; I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water on this one.

Well I'm in contract so I'll be sure and update if the pre-purchase finds anything, but honestly it does seem very well maintained and flown regularly. Looking forward to the test flight

I hope it is a great plane for somebody. I would not only be worried about accepting the condition of the plane vis-a-vis the logbooks and accuracy of those, but also what any future buyer (assuming this isn't my forever plane) might think and cause me anguish in years to come.

Some people just want some reason to be picky about - whether it’s to negotiate lower or something else.

The reality is that most brokers get the hours at some point to list. And people continue to fly it - which means hours are almost never lower than reported and always going up - unless the broker physically has the plane - then it could be sitting.
