I've had the system like this one installed for several years. Temps are not hotter down low, and there should be no real difference until you climb to about 8k where the timing advance occurs. At that point, if you're climbing up to 10k or higher, enriching the mixture or lowering the nose for 10 kts additional airspeed brings it right in line.

Mine is installed on an IO470C, and I get pretty outstanding climb performance to 8k, then nose it over to 500fpm up to 11-13k for cooling. In cruise I've had no difference in CHT whatsoever.

Starting is pretty straightforward, definitely easier than it was with 2 mags. But I still run the pump for a bit before adding mixture for hot starts.

Our daughter just flew her Electroair 172H from the California Central Coats to Monmouth Exec NJ, KBLM. 28 hrs in three days of flying. Two overnights. About 7 gph and 100 mph for the entire trip. O300 can be leaned just under 6 gph and still runs smooth. Sweet spot is 6.4 gph.

I'm sold on the system and have 3 kits ready to install on the Baron and one on our V35.
Its a true high power EI system that you can't squeeze into a magneto size package. Eliminates mag failure by 50%. Key start relic eliminated with MIL SPEC switches.

This was our first system we installed and a Bonanza installation would ideally mount the coil pack on the engine side of the firewall kidney panel and the control unit on the back side.

Its all really simple when you get into it.

Is the system still available? Probably a dumb question but will the system work on a 12 volt system?
