It’s not even an intervention, it’s a manual authorization, without which the booster stays on a trajectory for the Gulf. I’m surprised that their default is not the Atlantic, but I don’t know the overall flight path.

If you're returning the booster to a site on the western side of the gulf, the Atlantic doesn't make much sense as a last-minute alternate.
