Nobody ever includes the Lake La-4-200 Buccaneer in these for some reason. Well built planes, easy to fly, certified and has lots of mods. I have a whopping 4 hours in one, but loved it. ;)

LA4-180 and Colonial Skimmers should be added if this class of aircraft is to be included in the discussion. Definitely not LSA machines but good fun nonetheless.

look at Vickers aircraft. https://www.vickersaircraft.com/

it should meet the new MOSAIC specs and it is what the Icon should be. two people plus plenty of stuff.

When the Icon was at the development stage the Vickers is now, it cost $120,000 and no one had died in one. Speaking only for myself, I’m too old to be a test pilot, and it’s too new to buy into.

As pointed out, this thread is about LSA or sLSA amphibs. Hence why the Skimmer / Lakes are not included. I have lots of time in Lakes and like them and my ramp mate in East Hampton has a Lake and bought Skimmer 1 - The original prototype from the owner at Kline Kiln a number of years ago. I brokered a Lake Renegade years ago when Lake was still in production. Had 4 seats taken out and shipped via air to Germany. Got a permit and installed an aux tank where the seats were and the son of the new owner and I flew it from Floriday to Germany. A lot different airplane than an Icon, SeaMax etc.

Great fllight except that 450 miles out of the North Atlantic every noise brought some anxiety.
