Hi guys,

I'm not a Beech owner (dare I say, "yet"...), but I've had the pleasure to be acquainted with Jeff Snyder for a few years. So when I got the hankerin' for information, this is the first place I thought of. Looks like a great one too!

I'm an engineer just out of college. My dad, a private pilot, got me into flying, and I started taking lessons in 2000 at 15. While I contemplated making a career of it, I've more or less decided to keep flying for fun. I did get the Instrument and Commercial and flew skydivers in a '57 182 during the summers of '06 and '07, but that was more fun than serious work.

After getting my license and looking to build hours for the Instrument and Commercial, my dad and I started the airplane hunt. Since we were both pilots now there'd surely always be a mission for it. We started looking at Cessna 150s, then somehow got into 120s/140s. Ended up with a 1946 140. That's her in the attached pics. We often thought of moving up to a 170, and I was dreaming of 180s for a while, but I think if I was crazy enough to have two airplanes...to have the 140 and some sort of cruiser would be the best combination. Personally, I like the looks of a straight, original '47 model 35. And before signing up here I was looking up the V-tail and E225 vs. OPEC-470 discussions. But before I get too carried away, I need to do some figuring. In the meantime I'll keep watching and maybe ask a question here and there, even stick my neck out every once in a while, and hopefully learn something about flying and operating airplanes in general. There's always something to learn!

I'm Marvin Baldwin, Parker, CO. I was bitten by the flying bug in 1965, got my private and commercial while in college, then spent 9 years as a Naval Aviator, flying the A-7E. From 1978 until 2006 I flew Douglas and Boeing jets for Continental Airlines. Along the way I owned a Piper Colt, was a partner in a B33 Debonair and a Cessna 188, and in 1999 bought a low time, updated K-35. My wife and I continue to be impressed with the comfort, economy and speed of our 49 year old Bonanza.

Jeff, thanks for starting this forum. Sharing ideas, resources, problems and solutions is a great way to keep our planes flying safely for many years to come.

You bought MY airplane!!!!!!!!! 3094C. I was trying to buy Ed's plane when I did well on some tec stocks back in the day. You out bid me and I bought my house. I loved 94C sooooooo much. I used it for any personal travel I did and I was the only CFI (other than the owner of the club) to check people out in it while Ed had it in the club here in the Cleveland area.
The last time I flew it, I flew from Cleveland to pick up Ed in MHT. We then spent the next two days flying to Boise ID.

Take care of MY airplane. I think Ed want's it back.

Hello everyone, I just stumbled upon this forum and must say, what a great resource! Let me introduce myself...

My wife and I live in Atlanta, where I keep our 91' F33A Bonanza (for sale/trade, looking at 58 baron's now ), the bonanza is based out of KPDK.

I have owned the airplane for 5 years or so, it has been an absolute pleasure to fly and own. My wife and I just returned from a last minute weekend trip to the Bahamas in the 'nanza- what a wonderful airplane for the trip.

Anyway, I am excited to be a part of this community!

Welcome Nate! I have an "S" model as well...had a "G" for ten years before this one. I actually liked the light controls of the "G" better, but the extra payload, speed, and much better avionics in the "S" more than make up for it. The early Bo's are great to fly though

Now there is one screwed-up priority- a house?

First I want to say that I have been flying for 42 years and only in the last two have I had the pleasure of owning a Beech. I bought my A-36 two years ago and there is simply no finer aircraft for my mission. We have flown it over 300 hrs, rangeing from our home in Arkansas to trips to Jackson Hole, Durango, Hilton Head, Oshkosh, New Orleans, Dallas. I have equipped it with an all Garmin stack consisting of two 430's, a 396, on board radar as well as nexrad on the 396, aux electric vaccum pump, JPI 700, elec. standby AI, and I cannot say enough about having air-cond in the South. Occupation: Insurance defense attorney, CFII, Designated Pilot Examiner, A&P. We able I have been known to fly a sailplane or two, or hunt a deer or turkey.

We are having our first regular fly-in here on March 29. Hop on down. Two of us on Beech Talk are based here, with nearly identical TN A36s.

Interesting. I never even noticed there were icons there. I'm such a word guy that I just don't see the icons -- especially if there are no words to tell what the icons are.

Joined here awhile back but thought I would finally take a few minutes to introduce myself.

My wife and I are both pilots having started our training for our PP-ASELs together in 2005. I have always had an interest in flying and decided to finally make the time to pursue it. Since that decision I have never looked back

2007 was the year we were going to purchase our own aircraft so we spent some time looking at and flying various aircraft. While the Mooney, Cirrus and Columbia (now Cessna) each had their attractions, it was the Bonanza A36 that finally got the vote and we purchased our current aircraft in July 2007.

So far we have put close to 100 hours on her between travel and instrument training and look forward to the many travels in our future.

This forum has already become a favorite daily stop...

I'm in Baltimore, MD. I've been a private pilot since 1986. My current aircraft is a 1978 Grumman Cheetah, my first airplane. I've been hooked on flying since my first ride in a Piper Colt as a 7 year old. and enjoy all types of aircraft, but especially the ones I get to fly. My interest in this group is in learning as much as I can about Beechcrafts, as my next plane could very well be a Bonanza. Hopefully once in a while I can also contribute.

I am a low time student pilot currently training in a Cessna 172. I hope to complete my training by the Fall of '08. Although I am training in Cessna's, I am very interested in the "Baby Beeches", and hope to purchase a Sundowner after my training is complete (I hope someday to work my way up to a Bonanza!). This board is a wealth of information... I look forward to picking your brains throughout my training and in pursuit of ownership. I am self-employed in the Marketing Communications field. Being self-employed, scheduling a "formal" vacation is a difficult process, so flying will allow my wife and I to get away when those few lulls arise. My mission will be to travel far and wide in search of the best $100 omlet and hopefully a once a year trip to the beach. One additional motivating factor for me to earn my certificate is that I hope to fly with my Dad... he worked very hard providing for our family and never really "treated" himself to much while I was growing up. He made my life a very good one, and now that I have the opportunity, I plan on flying with him to as many MLB games as we can in the Northeast. He is a big baseball fan, but we have only ever attended one MLB game in person. Flying will give us the opportunity to change that.
