The 525 SB situation was never as dire as the Mustang one. Vendors selling current production parts for the 525 as far more proactive than resurrecting stuff they haven't made in a decade.

If you buy a Mustang, you are in a different ecosystem when it comes to parts. A lot of stuff is unique versus much of the 500 or 525 line.

Now you are using FUD to tarnish the Mustang just because you were caught with wrong information, again.

You want to give us some examples of parts that are unavailable for Mustangs because they went out of production 7 years ago?

Yeah, if you look at the flight profile, I had a headwind the first part of the trip. Crazy how many times I am leaving to the east with a headwind. But I have many flights over 6 hours. Utah to Fl is typically 5 something hours for me, but don't always get lucky. If you are into performance, going into a headwind or heavy, you are better off flying a little faster, and then as you get lighter and tailwinds backing off the power a little to get max range. Here is my longest flight so far. Anchorage to just North of SLC. I think I could have made northern AZ with no alternate IFR reserve, but got me door to door home way faster than commercial ever could. 1865 nm in 6:45. Had a headwind the first half of the trip. Go figure. Interesting thing about that trip was that from PANC all the way to Boise ID, my alternate, was LIFR and icing. So a fuel stop, while possible, would have been not for the faint of heart. But I was on top the whole way. Heard several commercial ops in lower AK and Canada going missed.

I'm just impressed you did 6 hours in the air! I did 4 once in my Mooney and swore never ever again. Though when I landed I realized I saved time/money without the stop.

No offense to your Mooney, but 6 hours in a pressurized turbine airplane cruising in the flight levels is vastly more tolerable than 4 hours in an unpressurized piston airplane cruising down low.

Just not the same. The difference is enormous. Those of us fortunate to fly turbines realize what a huge advantage that is.

I've logged more 1200nm+ flights than I can count in the Mustang. Among others, I fly to Wichita for recurrent every year which is 1240nm. I've always made it non-stop, once even without a tailwind. My longest flight last year was 1460nm to Georgetown, TX with a 60kt tailwind. The Mustang has longer legs than most realize, but haters are going to hate.

Nin taken. I fly in a lot CJ’s and have done 3plus hours in them. Much different. But 6 in a SETP, no way. I need to move after hour 3.

You know me, I’m over here with three hammers just trying to nail down jello!

There seems to be two kinds of people, those who love the Mustang and those who hate it.

So far I haven’t found anyone who has actually flown in one that hates it. Mike C. could be the exception, but we don’t know because he keeps dodging the question.

I am just thankful that my Mustang can’t read this thread. Can you imagine the pushback I would get if it were to find out that I have been squeezing more than 700 miles out of it all of these years?
Average of 45 knots on my nose heading north today, and I still land with over 500 pounds on my 1000nm commute. All while in the sunshine, listening to yacht rock radio, chowing down on Jimmy John’s in a 7600 ft cabin altitude. Sounds like a pretty dam nice setup to me. :dancing:

Just admit that it’s a crappy little plane and that you’d be much better off with a Citation V at half price.

I do have a client that will take it off your hands, it won’t be a good airplane for him, but like all my other clients, he hates his money… now that Mike C. has explained how inferior the Mustang is and that you won’t be able to get unique 510 parts for it… I think $1.5M is a fair deal to bail you out! :lol:

I've flown all the CE-500 models. They are good airplanes.

Comparing them to an old Falcon is like comparing a pack mule to a race horse (a stud with big junk).

If I hit the powerball my first additions to my fleet will be a Falcon 10 and 20 Retrofit. :cheers:

My old Falcon 10 mentor has gone west. His favorite story was climbing out of New York leading the pack in the direction of the Texas fatherland. He was just running normal speed and trying to conserve a little fuel. The controller asked him for max forward airspeed. :rofl: As he streaked off ahead of everyone the controller asked his indicated airspeed. His response was, "We're showing 365, do you need some more"?

I had a trip from ADS to YIP a few years ago in a 20 retrofit. The boss had an important business meeting. He showed at the airplane 20 minutes late in a fluster. With his phone in his hand he asked how late we were going to be. It is good to have an excuse to demonstrate an aircraft's capabilities. I just smiled and said we aren't going to be late.
We stayed in the upper 20's and called on the engine room for power all ahead 3/thirds.
At .86 direct it doesn't take long to get back on schedule. :cheers:
