The 20 minute endurance makes it a very expensive toy, but even if that issue is resolved, you still have an ultralight, which means that it must remain in uncontrolled airspace and cannot fly over cities, towns or large groups of people. That last bit makes it completely impractical as transportation.

So you have a $100K toy for playing around in the middle of nowhere for 20 minutes. It is one of the few aircraft that make the Icon business model look good.

And that's only because nobody has died in the Jetson One yet.......that we know of, anyway........ :duck:

Haven't we already learned that "pre-sold" doesn't mean anything in aviation?

I would think there is a dark area between about 15 feet and whatever altitude from a hover or even forward flight you can successfully deploy the ballistic chute.

Is any power loss or loss of control in that envelope survivable? how big of a dead spot is it?

Wouldn’t it be the same with almost all of the EVTOL designs coming out since none can autorotate. Or some with fixed wings have no control surfaces to use.

Did you see the forest video? The chute won't save you when you find out what a skidding turn REALLY is and clip a tree trunk.

On the plus side, I think we've found a solution for the number of idiots in the world with too much money. Darwin's waiting room is going to fill fast.

Or sticks a finger in one, like a mower deck.......SOMEBODY caused those stickers to be placed on them warning of a rotating blade, so you know someone will do it with this Jetson.......

I doubt that they have a triple redundant control system which IMO should be mandatory. If the fly by wire stuff craps out above 20 ft AGL the parachute isn't going to save you. Even close to the ground, a control fault at 60 mph isn't going to be pretty.

Did y'all see notice the tag line below the title?

"Only a few minutes of training are required to fly the craft." :bugeye:

Scary is an understatement.
