I am looking for real world actual performance numbers for the first series of citation jet (CJ). I would appreciate any info from someone who owns or flys one. Specifically range, normal cruise speed, fuel burn, full fuel payload and performance hot and high.

Thanks,
Steve

Worth the $$ if you're just deciding which jet

I've been flying my G1000 equipped CJ for the past 7 years between 3-400 hours per year - send me a PM and I'll be happy to discuss or chime in. We recently bought a BE400 for the company and while it is fast and a great business tool, I enjoy flying the CJ SP much more.

You can PM me as well. I flew a G1000 CJ for 5years and 650 hours in the upper midwest. Recently sold and moved to a CJ4. The CJ is a good work horse for owner flown/single pilot ops. Good full fuel/1000nm 3-4 person airplane. Still has good legs with 5-6 people in it. Faster and thirstier than turboprops, but goes higher. If my range and payload needs hadn't increased I'd still be in the CJ.

Thank you for all the help and responses. I am a member of CJP, but it is definitely easier to get information here than there. Plus searching for "Citation Jet" brings up about every thread there. Also, just got the notice they are increasing their fee

Textron provides a $500 coupon for parts and service every year to CJP members who own a Citation. This basically makes the $500/year dues net zero.

If you aren't an owner, then the dues are a bit steep.

When I checked into using it, I thought it was only valid on parts or service used at a service center and you have to let them know ahead of time. Also, I’ve tried using the CJP fuel discount and no one seems to honor it. Have you had better luck or experiences?

I've used it on parts ordered from txtav.com website. Textron seems to have expanded the certificate use to buying parts even over the website. I had to email someone at Textron to get my account credited with the certificate, however, so it doesn't "just work" on the website.

No. I never figured out how to use it.

The list of FBOs that take it is small. Only 15 per the listing on the CJP website. Nearly all of them are also CAA with CAA having better prices, so the program is very little value as far as I can tell.

RUMINT is that the Jeffs are also doubling their user fee from $0 to $00. I am thankful that BeechTalk is Sponsor Funded! Thanks Sponsors!

Bob

I totally agree. and if when one makes their Amazon purchases through the BT website, the Jeff's get a small little cut to help fund the website. I started doing this a few years ago and I sure hope it helps BT.

I have done this a time or two but most of the time forget. Thanks for the reminder!

The CJP fuel program had a negotiated discount for Signature FBOs that I used regularly. Between CAA and CJP I was well covered for my missions. However, Signature terminated the agreement as of 1/1/2022. So now the CJP fuel program is effectively dead. I have now been scrambling to join other fuel contract programs to fill in where CAA isn't an option.

Also, CJP has a 90-day trial period to check out the forums, library, resources, etc.

Care to elaborate on the G1000 CJ’s. ??
My hangar neighbor has one with the G1000. I’m looking into a dry lease. I assume G1000 no longer supported, but what does that really mean?
Is the gfc700 AP a good match for the airframe?
I am aware of the latest txi/750/750 setup and probably would prefer it, but the G1000 with the engine instrument integration looks nice.
Any major downsides?
