I've only flown the JP T3 once... and it was extremely docile. The thrust performance wasn't particularly stunning. But it was fun.

Pretty easy flying airplane. Burns roughly 130 gph and holds 335. I want to say it burned around 65 -70gph just idling. Maintenance is pretty straight forward, nothing too complicated for an experimental. Make sure you know the specifics of the LOA.

Lance Toland from Griffin , Georgia used to import these . He might be able to help with maintenance.

I thought for experimental, you get an LOA, not a type rating. Gotta find a guy authorized to check you out for the LOA, but... Paul

I think you are confusing it with a BAC Strikemaster, the light attack derivative of the Jet Provost. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAC_Strikemaster I think these had them too (the straight trainers), if wiki is to be believed. They have bomb racks for practice bombs and other ordnance. On this side of the pond, the TF-9 (two seat Grumman Cougar) had a gun the TA-4 was another trainer that might have had real guns too, at least in the distant path.
