Paul New did my 210 prebuy and recommended Coastal Aviation in Santa Maria as I live in PHX.

That being said I took my plane to Del for hail damage repair and to John Efinger twice a year for maintenance. :D

Both of them are great!

Wanted how I fixed my Cessna doors and latches. I’ve had a lot of positive feedback posting the process on a blog post.

http://welch.com/n46pg/category/doors/

The post discusses how to realign he door and adjust/overhaul the latches.

My previous hard to close and latch doors now suck shut like a new Cessna, and teh lathes are butter smooth.

Hope it helps.

David, i actually linked your article in the first post; it was my inspiration that the problem is actually solvable! :) Just need to find a mechanic with some time to help me do all the work.

The passenger side door of my '75 182P latches but not completely closed before moving the handle forward. Part of the problem is after recovering the seats, the right side seat bottom was compressed just a bit, interfering with door closing, especially with somebody sitting in it. So to avoid people slamming the door after getting in, I board the right seat passenger, getting them set up with the BAS harness, then I push the door flush, and they move the handle forward with no strain on the handle. I'll just live with that.

I'm not sure if this guy can help with this specific problem but he's a sheet metal Michelangelo. Nick at West Coast Wings in Ukiah.
