essentially a fixed gear 210.

RAS

But with 260hp. Unless there is an STC for a 520.

There is. Texas Skyways. Repaired a 205 about 6 years ago. With the 550 it was a beast.

Arturo is laughing. (inside joke for old Cessna Pilots Association members)

Yep, the 210 version of choice would be the 1964 210D. IO 520. 4+"2" seating only downside is no cargo door. Never stopped me from camping or hauling equipment. (dismantled a small milling machine once and hauled it back in pieces.)

Also the early 210's (including the D) had the smaller elevators and you routinely need 40# in baggage in order not to run out of elevator trim on final. Great short field work.

Other than that its an excellent plane. Quick, hauls a lot and really economical when you pull back on the throttles.

I commuted between Fresno and San Diego for about 7 years with one and really enjoyed it.

Im seriously thinking of going back to one now that we have a strip to play with. :)

In the case of a Cessna, that'd be a double chin

The Cessna 210 of the same vintage as the Cessna 205 was an IO-470 powered plane as well.

First two years of the 210, 1960 and 1961 were the narrow cabin C180/C185 fuselage with 260hp IO-470 and retractable gear. The prototype 210 still had the straight tail of the Cessna 180/182 that it was derived from!

1962 210B and 1963 210C were the larger wide cabin used through 1969, also with an IO-470.

210s are not cheap, 206’s are expensive because they can be put on floats and used to make money.

I have some time in a G1000 T206 and was surprised by how much I liked it. It's roomy, smooth, pretty fast and will land on a postage stamp. I think they're great.

Reminds me of a pink floyd song, "hey hunter, leave them elk alone"

#savetheelk

Grommet knows better. I'm calling his wife tomorrow. She'll set him straight.

I'm gonna reel her in. Kids are gonna make her do it. Within one year, she'll be vegan. I'll be coming up to fly the cub and the new 206
