Agreed..... 2 different things.

A most excellent recommendation

I'm not sure that it statistically true in Turbine powered airplanes. BUT, at a high level, having a competent pilot who knows the airplane when the SHTF should seem not to be a bad thing.

90% of my flights I'm the only certified pilot. I currently fly about 400hrs per year. I'm not saying that makes me a good pilot but I do fly enough to remain current.

No doubt most owners ride in the back. I love flying. I trust myself A LOT more than 2 guys I don't know flying my airplane while I sit in the back.

The "cardiac event" is a fair consideration. But how often is that a cause of an airplane crash? Yes, I've heard of those crashes but it's super super rare.

Yep, both guys up front could have had the fish!

In the airlines the Captain and FO actually get served different meals for that very reason!

Great point. An urgency becomes an emergency with someone who panics!

Well, you see? We agree. I am speaking about two CRM trained pilots, not some shlub. A shlub can actually make the flight less safe.

I don't know, I think I'm with Jeff here, might be better to have someone you do know that will behave than a pilot you don't.

Obviously it depends on the airplane, Tom needs a trained SIC... but Crandall only needs someone who can fly well enough to save his bacon if he has a asteroid sized kidney stone!

If I was flying with Crandall, I would sit in the back. He doesn't want anybody upfront anyway, and based on my whole 30 minutes of pilatus experience, the front seats rank somewhere between a school bus and a wooden church pew for comfort.

This is why there are 62 PC12's flying right now compared to 30 Citation Excels.

Where are they going? Are they carrying passengers or boxes?

The Excel is twice as fast at the Pilatus so is in flight half the length of time?

Chip is chatting away here on a pilots forum as a pilot. Problem is he's never flown so much as a pair of gich from point A to point B. Big distortion! Very Bad! :bugeye:

Not so fast there chisel chest, we don't all eat lightning for breakfast and shoot jaguars for lunch :duck:

Chip is in the sales/support side of the business. He's made good points as to why he's not a full time pilot..........that does not make him incorrect.

He is correct about the Pilatus :D

That's still not the story Chip originally told. You keep trying to change the subject.
