I have been kinda looking for a service manual for this but everything I find is later models. I will spend a little more time tonight and really look for one.
It is a Model 100 Series MM 1963-1968, #D637-1-13.
In the work I did on the 65 182H I pulled The L/H Cell, Installed at the previous Annual and installed a New Cell on the R/H side.
There is only one vent that connects to the outboard edge of the L/H cell.
There is a Plastic Line in the each Cell that is secured by a series of metal rings molded into the cell along the top. These attach to a nipple with an Alum tube that connects the 2 cells across the top of the cabin behind the front spar carry through.
What I found in my PTSD induced maint event with the fuel system.
The R/H cell leaked with fuel running down the side of the fuselage. When I opened the 2 covers up on top of the wing the plastic vent tube wasn't through all the D rings. The outboard edge of the vent sat against the bottom of the cell so would be in liquid most of the time.
So I opened the L/H cell covers and found the same situation with the vent line and the end was sitting in the fuel. Also found long wrinkles in the bottom creating a dam from inboard rib to rear spar so drain was on one side of the dam. Tried to use a broom handle to gently move the bottom of the cell around but it wouldn't budge. Ended up discovering the previous installer of the cell used spray adhesive of some type to secure the bottom of the cell. I had to dislodge, roll up, extract through the 8" round hole and then unstick the glued together tube. I ended up using jet fuel to wash the glue off. What a mess. Now my PTSD will return tonight.
Anyway, check the plastic vent lines. You'll need mechanic supervision and new gaskets to reinstall things. Make sure they are up in the air in the D rings along the top.
I also rebuilt the fuel selector as it wouldn't shut off. I also changed ever rubber hose on the Vent lines and feed lines. Some were 50 years old and splitting externally.
This one will now feed slightly faster from the L/H side which seems to be common.
Good Luck!
