Took me about 30 seconds to load a flight plan on the B777 to go half way around the world. How long would it take you to load a flight plan to go half way around the world in a PC-12? Kind of doubt that it would be less than 30 seconds.

Alright wisenhymer, send me the readback and I'll time it. If your's is doing it automatically, that's different than manual entry. Man asked about manual entry.

Here you go. Why don't you record the entry and put it on YouTube and I'll do the same (in the simulator, since I've retired from flying the line) KLAX - OMDB CASTA6 EHF J5 PINNI MVA BAM HLN GTF WLLES YXE YVC 6130N/10000W 6700N/09000W 7200N/08000W GELBO 7700N/06000W 7900N/04000W 7900N/02000W 7700N/00000E 7500N/01000E OLOLI TINOS KELEK A832 MOVIT G476 UREPI B958 BD BD4T SW BD5T FV R11 US A722 PT R11 GUSLI M54 TAVRO M54 ADILA N82 ADANO N77 MAGRI UR654 ZAJ R654 SAV UP574 SYZ G666 ORSAR R784 PEBAT B416 DESDI

You have a full QWERTY keyboard in that 777? Because I figured it had a similar FMC to the 767 and there's no way I could have that entered in 30 seconds. . . and it'd take much longer in the C-17 (even without an airdrop or air refueling to load!)
Man I want to see those fingers work! Especially a light plan that integrates half latitudes!

Nope. YouTube video to follow when I'm back in the simulator on Monday evening.

Get a 441 with G600's/GTN's. Shoot your flight plan from your iPhone to the FS510 and be done with pushing buttons. Chill in a 6.3Psi cabin at FL350 with 2 Garrett's sipping 52gal/hr. at 290Kts while the chumps get tossed around in the soup. Just sayin';) Martti, how you doin mate? .......you still gotta put that flight plan in your phone!!!

Just load dep/arr airport and you're done. Then you get the expected route when it's filed and just load it from the phone. Piece of cake! Oh wait, we also check winds aloft, turbulence and tops above FL280:)

Yes, you have to be ready before takeoff. But, you don't have to go full route. Get the first 20 minutes/75 miles in the box. You will have time to add on once you get there and it will very likely change. Mike C.
