It's been a while but I finally have an MU2 under contract. Pre buy and 100hour are starting next week. I'm working with simcom for my initial training. The value of being able to do things in the sim that you wouldn't do in the real plane made the extra cost worth it in my mind. I've still got some sanity questions I need to answer as this is really not a need for me right now, but I am looking forward to the challenge, learning and getting comfortable in the new plane. Hopefully I'll be able to report back in a year or so that it was the best decision I ever made. Spent the last week plugging in destinations from Houston into foreflight and this plane sure makes my part of the world a little smaller. One of my "selling" arguments for myself is that I will WANT to fly more now to use the plane and load up all 6 of us so hopefully that will happen. Probably not until I have 50 plus hours in it though. Day VFR machine for me with family until it's second nature. I do plan on doing some angel flights to build my time and confidence.
Anyone want a nice C model Baron? I hear there's a nice one out there!

Congratulations! What model did you get?

I would recommend some hours with a mentor pilot. That will help you safely transition and get comfortable with the airplane.

That may be in cards in the future. Depends on my usage, overall cost of ownership the next couple of years and the big one, will I get bored at 260kts at 20,000 ft? If I do, a dash 10 may be required!
