CASES WINDSHIELS IN COCKPIT STARTER ADAPTORS EXHAUST AD
Above is what I've uncovered.
The STOL mod has had some great reviews as a benefit to shot field ops but the down side is the MOD requires additional maintenance to up keep.

Agreed on both counts, assuming you have VG's on the plane (most 421s have them, but if not it's a cheap add).
If you're just transitioning to the 421 it does take a little practice to get the airplane slow enough on short final to reliably make 3300, but it's certainly do able. Just make sure you're ready to go around if you are too fast.
I based at Addison, and landing 33 I reliably make Foxtrot which is about 3500 feet.
