Picking up here after the thread on PD got a bit long winded. I bought this 1956 Champ from BTer Don Ewing. It arrived on Friday, and I made a first flight Saturday morning. What fun!!! My wife said it reminded her of the movie "Rudy." IT'S SO LITTLE!

You are only missing two items:
- Straight floats - Wheel penetration skis Doug, 90hp. That T-handle is the starter. Pull it to start the engine. Not LSA legal. 1450 max gross weight. Yeah, floats and skis really would make it sweet. I've thought that a Grumman Goose would be a good alternative.

Tom, I talked to Paul on the way out at the airport today. He had a lot of fun flying the Champ back to your neck of the woods. He's a really nice guy and has bucket loads of experience under his belt flying everything under the sun. As for the Staggerwing...it needs complete fabric and some other work. It's one of the most earliest Stagerwings produced. I would suspect that you'd be looking at $30K plus just to recover it and another $10K to fix the odds and ends? But I still think you'd look damn good in a Staggerwing. Dave
