I am planning on buying a Cessna 185 with a IO550 and a cargo pack in the near future. I have not flown a taildragger in 40 years and needed some practice. Adam and David were kind enough to loan me their new TOY. What a humbling experience when you "think' you already know how to fly. This is a great little plane, low time, metal wings, 180 HP, climb prop, double puck brakes, big tires and VG's. I call it the Little Red Beast because everytime I fly it the plane is just waiting for me to make a mistake. I should have done this years ago, what a blast and so cheap I can fly it with my lunch money. Here is the "red beast" in it's cave. I believe I will soon become a third partner because it's so much fun. Attachment: 087.JPG

Land over the pond and the fence , get down on the short rough runway quick because there is no go around ( one way in and out) and about 1,000 feet useable. Very interesting , fun and cheap. Idaho back country is next. Cmon up Gerald. It's an easy 2.5 hour flight. Always a place to stay.

It's fun to just enjoy flying without watching 100 dollar bills go out the exhaust pipe cruising in the flight levels. The only negative is the 12 hour cross country to get to Idaho and back. Next I will try a 185 in the near future. I never understood why my dad loved flying in my 152 or 172's until I started flying his TN bonanza. Up high going fast is one thing, but low and slow is truly "flying"!
