Orignal non upgraded, non ETT Eclipse with 300 hours on a motor program. Avidyne avionics, uncoupled autopilot (heading and altitude), no radar. All mine now!
Avionics are goofy but who cares, it's fun to fly, doesn't burn much gas and is gorgeous. 350kts burning 55 GPH.
I don't recommend doing this for most. We have 2 parts planes available and this involves some assumption of risk. Looming 10 year throw away date looming in 3 years. However, I don't know of any other plane that can do what this plane can do. If someone offered you a twin turbofan pressurized experimental for this level of investment, you wouldn't say no!
Feel free to criticize or praise. I am in love. I did my due diligence and semi know what I am getting into.
Mike

I weighed it all in, Duke, P Baron, Aerostar, KingAir, Mu-2,
This just made sense to answer the "where do I go after a 58 Baron" question.

Mike Ha. I don't think that's the conclusion most Baron drivers would come too.

I really liked the Epic and Evolution also at OSH but this seemed like a modern Baron to me... Username Protected wrote: This just made sense to answer the "where do I go after a 58 Baron" question.

I'm not knocking it. You're obviously handy and have more patience than I do.

It sure sounds like you have done your homework and are getting into it with eyes wide open. Enjoy flying it. Congratulations. Can you explain this: Quote: Looming 10 year throw away date looming in 3 years.

original windshields needed replacement every 100 cycles, what a joke, upgrading to the 2800 cycle ones...
This sort of plane does require patience. It's no G-V or TBM950 but it does a lot for what it cost.
I like experimentals and consider the early Eclipses "Certified Experimentals". You can't economically own this beast and not get a little dirty I think.
