We just upgrade my father-in-law's 1978 M20K. Boy she needed it. Turned out really nice. Going for some flight tests today. James Wurman at General Avionics at West Houston (KIWS) did an excellent job. Thanks James! Attachment: 2013-10-26 12.55.46.jpg Notice paint chips on old yokes. Attachment: Before Panel.jpg Going to eBAY! 70 pounds of old equipment plus wiring. Probably going to net an increase of 40 pounds useful load. Attachment: 70 pounds of junk.jpg Uh oh...where does all that stuff go? Attachment: 2013-10-26 12.57.39.jpg Attachment: 2013-11-02 10.57.16.jpg Ta-da!! I owned a 201 and later a 231. Panel space was always very limited whenever we contemplated any upgrades. LOOK AT ALL THE PANEL SPACE NOW.
The new Garmin product is ideal for this sort of panel.

Flew an RNAV WAAS approach today and it worked great. Also, traffic, radios, intercom, excellent. Glideslope captured. Attachment: Houston-20131212-00704.jpg Attachment: Kerrville-20131202-00573.jpg
