Here's a link to several pictures from today's two-ship with a P-51D. We flew near Boulder City, NV and Lake Mead (the lake behind Hoover Dam). The Mustang was used by NACA for various research projects (hence the extra pitot tubes and other sensors sprouting from the wings). The airplane is based at KVGT. I was flying my Extra 300L; my front-seat passenger snapped the pictures. (I would post a picture here, but the forum accepts images no larger than 800 pixels wide.)

Great photos Bruce. If flying a P51 is on your bucket list (I don't mean just Bruce but anyone), why would'nt you just go to Stallion 51 in Kissimmee and for about $3,000.00, as Tiger would say, just do it? Not cheap, but for a "Bucket List" item, doable. Has anyone had the experience? I ask because I'm thinking seriously about it and would appreciate the info. Thanks, Ed
