Sort of. They license programs from companies like Eaton that own the design but don't want anything to do with manufacturing or supporting the component. Eaton became the design owner when they bought Consolidated Controls back in the 80s. In a way it's a good deal because without companies like Ontic there would be no support whatsoever. But Eaton still owns the design so in order to make any changes Ontic has to go back to Eaton and get permission. It's a big deal, and very time consuming.

I never worked on them much, but we had trouble with bleed air valves on a number of different models.

Ontic is horrible to deal with, Woodward prop sync controls another line they took on. We have sent them boxes we troubleshot down to a specific part in the box, they still could not figure it out. Nobody knows who is in charge of what product lines, nobody returns calls, takes months to get any repair done with low success rate.
I understand they are no longer repairing the Conquest flow packs but are working on manufacturing a replacement, target price $60K each.
