New to the G1000. I recently purchased a 2005 Cessna T182T which was originally a non Wass unit, which was modified to a wass unit by Cessna modification that replaced the GIA 63's with GIA63W's. Additionally the plane was upgraded with the Garmin 345R transponder. The plane is equipped with KAP 140 with altitude preselect. I have been watching utube videos and reading the Garmin G1000 Cockpit reference guide. I have flown the W530 or W430 in my past 4 planes over the past 14 years using the Century III , Stec 30, KFC150, Stec50 all of which were GPSS capable using the Gad or Stec adapters. Does anyone from experience know if the KAP 140 will couple the glideslope on an LPV approach with G1000 Does anyone know if a Flightstream 210 can be added to the older version of the G1000 with GIA 63w's Tips or suggestions would be appreciated

LPV will not couple. It seems possible, but I remember hearing somewhere that King wouldn’t make the change when the waas g1000 units came out.

Tim Jogging old memories which jibe. Something along the lines that a pre-G1000 T182T w/KAP140 retrofitted to WAAS via a new navigator could easily track an RNAV GS, but the "same" AP in an early G1000 converted to WAAS could not.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. Both of my questions are resolved. My airplane N816AR will not couple the LPV glideslope with KAP 140 which I have come to accept as a normal for the set up. Guess I can just fly the approaches as LNAV using the stepdown fixes and hand fly the last segment . My interest in the Flightstream 210 is just not going anywhere. I have been told by some that it should work with the 63W's installed as a mod in the legacy G1000 but the Avionics manager at Van Bortel Aircraft which has handled an extraordinary number of these airplanes agrees it looks like it should work but something in the software will not allow it to function properly. I have come to love the Flightstream 210 that I have used with W530's in my last two airplanes
