On jan 5 I took my fixed sensenich off my piper 140 to aero Propeller in hemet ca, the owner … Mr Paul burrows.. took a few minutes to look at the prop and said it needed a overhaul…
2.6 months later and nothing but excuses all he did was grind the paint off and there it sat..
I finally went up there to get my prop away from him and when he went into the office … I removed my unfinished prop from his shop… drove it to another shop on a Friday and on Monday am the new prop shop said my prop was below minimum on dia and blade thickness.
Then why didn’t aero propeller tell me that after 2.6 months.. total B.S.
I PAID HIM 900.00 up front to save time and got a poorly written receipt.. he has refused to return any money and claims Jesus Christ and the devil are guiding him.. what ever Paul… 51/50…
AVOID AERO PROPELLER AND PAUL BURROWS , HE HAS RUINED MY PROP AND WONT GIVE BACK ANY MONEY AT ALL FOR WORK HE SAID HE WOULD DO.. HE IS A CROOK..
FSDO HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND SEEKING LEGAL ACTION..
REPEAT DISHONEST COMPANY AND PERSON , DO NOT USE HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET TAKEN AS I HAVE

I used ChatGPT to assist you, amusing the details it ignored

Subject: Complaint Regarding Aero Propeller and Mr. Paul Burrows

On January 5th, I brought my fixed Sensenich propeller from my Piper 140 to Aero Propeller in Hemet, CA, where Mr. Paul Burrows is the owner. He briefly inspected the propeller and recommended an overhaul. Despite paying $900 upfront for the service, which was poorly documented in a receipt, there was a significant delay in any progress. After 2.6 months of excuses and minimal work, I retrieved my propeller only to discover that it was below minimum diameter and blade thickness.

Aero Propeller failed to communicate this critical information during the extensive delay, leaving me with a damaged propeller and no refund for the incomplete work. Mr. Burrows' refusal to address the issue and his invocation of religious figures in his defense are unacceptable. I have notified the FSDO and am pursuing legal action against Aero Propeller and Mr. Burrows.

I urge others to avoid Aero Propeller and Mr. Paul Burrows unless they wish to face similar dishonest practices and financial losses.

Sincerely,
Billy Lopez

And here it is in a more legal format

Dear [Recipient Name],

I am writing to formally lodge a legal complaint against Aero Propeller and its owner, Mr. Paul Burrows, regarding the handling of my fixed Sensenich propeller from my Piper 140 aircraft. The details of the complaint are as follows:

On January 5th, 2024, I entrusted Aero Propeller, located in Hemet, CA, with the overhaul of my fixed Sensenich propeller. Mr. Paul Burrows, the owner of Aero Propeller, assessed the propeller and recommended an overhaul. In anticipation of timely and quality service, I paid Aero Propeller $900 upfront. However, despite this payment, no significant progress was made on my propeller for a period of 2.6 months.

Throughout this time, Aero Propeller provided numerous excuses for the delay. When I finally retrieved my propeller from Aero Propeller's premises, it became evident that the work done was minimal, limited to grinding off paint. Upon taking my propeller to another reputable propeller shop on the subsequent Monday, it was discovered that my propeller was below the minimum diameter and blade thickness standards.

Aero Propeller failed to inform me of these critical issues despite the extensive delay and my upfront payment. Moreover, the receipt provided by Aero Propeller for the $900 payment was poorly written and lacked sufficient detail.

Mr. Paul Burrows has not only refused to rectify the substandard work but has also made unacceptable statements regarding divine guidance from Jesus Christ and the devil. This behavior reflects poorly on Aero Propeller's professionalism and integrity.

As a result of Aero Propeller's negligence and failure to fulfill its contractual obligations, I have suffered financial losses and damage to my propeller. I have already notified the Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) and am actively seeking legal recourse to address this matter.

In light of the above, I demand the following actions be taken by Aero Propeller and Mr. Paul Burrows:

Refund of the $900 paid upfront for the incomplete and substandard work.
Compensation for the damages incurred due to the negligence and incompetence of Aero Propeller.
An official apology from Aero Propeller for the inconvenience and frustration caused.
If Aero Propeller and Mr. Paul Burrows fail to respond to this complaint and take appropriate corrective measures within [specific timeframe, e.g., 30 days] of receipt of this letter, I will escalate this matter through legal channels, including but not limited to filing a formal complaint with relevant authorities and pursuing civil action.

Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint and provide confirmation of the actions Aero Propeller intends to take to resolve this matter.

Sincerely,

[Your Signature (if sending a physical letter)]

A couple of serious questions:

What do you expect the FSDO to do? In other words, what Federal Aviation Regulation do you think he violated?

Are you sure you want to pursue legal action over a $900 deal gone south? The cost of obtaining a legal remedy is going to far outweigh that. Even if you get a judgment against him, collecting will be a whole other long and expensive process.

Depends on if it's a certificated repair station or not....

Shakespearean format would be acceptable too:

Methinks, in sorrow, do I recount the tale of thy propeller, forsaken by hands that promised care, yet delivered naught but negligence. 'Twas a sorry sight, as the hours passed and the overhaul ne'er came to be, whilst the rogue who pledged his skill did abscond with thy coin, leaving naught but empty promises in his wake. Oh, how Fortune doth mock us, to grant us hopes of repair, only to snatch them away like a thief in the night, leaving us adrift upon a sea of treachery and deceit.

That’s fantastic! Bravo and well done!

Sorry for your issues. For those looking for a good shop to overhaul a fixed pitch prop I recommend Sensenich Propeller Service, Inc in Gainseville GA. It cost me $1,122.71 with a new bolt kit and shipping. They picked it up and dropped it off at my airport. Got it back in a couple of weeks. May not be ideal for the west coast but I highly recommend them.

Shipping the prop any distance to a known good shop is worth the price.

My first screw-up with a prop shop was a $9K mistake and a drive to Tucson to attempt to re-acquire them.

I recently had great luck with Precision Propeller in Boise, ID. Worth the shipping box for sure.

Like everything, it can be hard to know who is good.
Although I tend to find prop shops more consistent than paint or avionics.
