A group of designers and builders of the original Navion built them. The one pictured above has an IO550 in it.

I watched this plane taxi in the other day and couldn't figure out what it was, but found out. I'll give some time to see who names it. I’m gonna go with a Raptor Aircraft. Was the engine an Audi?

In person it's a big airplane, but has pretty descent numbers for it's size with a good range. The IA that did the annual on the one in the pictures said it was one of the cleanest planes to come through the shop. It has a single door on the left side, having eliminated the sliding canopy on the original North American Navion https://www.navion.com/uploads/5/8/8/9/ ... s_here.pdfhttps://aeroresourcesinc.com/uploads/19 ... er%20H.pdf

Navion Rangemaster. A friend owned one I flew it many times. Wonderful airplane very sold, good ride in turbulence. The Rangemaster model has a conventional door and cabin versus sliding canopy on other models. Of course the Rangemaster also has tip tanks. The one I flew had an IO470. The one thing it’s not is fast. Typical cruise was 125 to 130 kts. Wish I bought it, really liked to fly it. It’s almost STOL, as I recall stall speed only about 40 kts with full flaps.

Ok, but how do you get in and out? I am unable to see a door or space for a sliding canopy. I must be missing something…
If that’s a sliding canopy the fit and finish is really good to hide the seams..l
