Not sure what’s better, the real deal or the spoof.

His adviser on this is the guy who jumped out at 25,000 with no chute at all. This is relatively drama free in comparison.

These parodies are HILARIOUS. Part 2 is quite good as well.

1) Putting on a parachute while suspended by a harness is 10% harder than doing it on the ground.
2) David Blaine in the throes of hypoxia having a classic "No bro, I'm totally cool to drive" conversation with his poor ops lead.
3) Altimeters on different wrists with AGL and MSL readings, switching wrists, David barely understanding the difference between the two, then being referred to by wrist instead of AGL and MSL.
4) Still-quit-hypoxic David thinking it's a good idea to pick a new LZ from FL 220.
Can't wait to see what comes next...an uneventful parachute ride down? Where do I go to get a refund on my time?
-J the whole thing was a yawn for me, at first i suspected the arm was fake, but then there was no exaggeration to difficulty to putting the chute on in his shoes, i would have pre-coordinated with everyone that we would hit a higher than advertised ceiling, i would give the indication that this was not planned and it was an emergency, i would also sow seeds of doubt that the parachute was fully rigged, maybe complain about a latch not securing or only having leg harnesses attached the list goes on, instead, it was routine, by the book, and full of private-pilot level knowledge of airspace and aeromedical factors

Precisely. This, to me, was on the same level of impressiveness as a wealthy 60 yr old buying themselves a ticket on a scenic space rocket tour.
"Oh, pops had to do so much STUDYING and get in peak physical condition for his trip! It's harder than it looks..."
