Does anyone know if a Lake has an integral fuel tank or rubber fuel bladders in the wings ?

I know - - weird question. But humor me !

George

It's a bladder in the rear of the cabin. Not sure what's in the floats.

Thank you ! That helps !

Believe it or not, it is a G100UL avgas issue.

You should look up for how the underwing float tanks are setup. Early Lakes did not store any fuel there, but the later ones do. I'm sure a proper expert will chime in sooner rather than later, but I do remember how my old one was setup when I lived in MN: rubber bladder in the rear, almost dead on CG, maybe a bit behind, IIRC.

All models of the Lake have a 40 gallon main tank (bladder) under the pylon.

The sponson tanks are 7 gallon aluminum tanks. Facet pumps are used to transfer fuel to the main fuel bladder.

Later model turbo Renegades had 17 gallon wing tanks (Aluminum). These are similar to low-wing piper tanks (ahead of the spar, near the wing root).

The last Lakes to be produced (Seawolf) had drop tanks on NATO hard points.

PM me if you need documentation on the sponson tank STC or anything from the maintenance manual.

Drew
