Or it could be Australia....

Andrew - we need to coordinate our schedules better... let's try to hook up and train together next time.

By the way I'm trying to talk the instructor into setting up some hot, high and heavy drills at Telluride for tomorrow.

We sure do need to coordinate better!

Last time I did that from ASE and some place over near Switzerland, it was great fun.

I've got Mitch next week, Tim previous.

Have fun.

Alex, you'll love the field........hot and high ain't the issue........ask him to throw in some afternoon mountain turbulence :D

my wife downs a 1/5th of whiskey when it's 'sporty' with the winds.......

A few things that I have seen.

1) plane climbs much quicker, I get to FL410 at 10,000lbs in 32 mins compared to 47mins pre-install.
2) i climb at Mach .5 quicker then previous
3) I accelerate at FL410 to .62 in 7 mins, pre install would be at least 20mins.
4) Chick magnet x5
5) on a 500nm trip which is mybtwice weekly return I'm seeing about 150lbs savings form 1200lbs down to 1050, I did last week in 975lbs which in 350 hours I've never seen.

Wow, super winglets!!!!

We have them on a king air, and besides the sex appeal, I cannot tell the difference in performance from not having them.

There are a number of differences with the typical winglets. For example, they add 6 feet of wingspan which has a positive impact at high altitude, and the loads are also alleviated by a set of small ailerons which unload the wing when necessary.

As Andrew describes, the benefits boil down to faster climbs to FL410 (or being able to get there in the first place) under various loading conditions. The other benefit is better hot-high-heavy performance.

Not really, just physics.

Couple of other thoughts is the stability of the plane as greatly increased. Very stable and solid in the roll

Vref has dropped about 5-8 kts based on .6 AOA, less energy on touch down is a benefit....again physics.

Andrew.

How did the training go Andrew? Let me know when you schedule again and I'll try to coincide with your session.

Hi Alex,

Just got back home to Australia.

Training was great. I had Mitch this time and he is my favourite instructor. Great guy who pushes you outside the standard tick boxs. I highly recommend him. I brought the full service agreement so I go to recurrent about 3 times a year. Let me know when your next training is and I'll see if we can swing it.

I'm back over to USA in October for CJP convention so will go again.

Managed to go to OSH this year and if all goes to plan will fly the CJ over next year. Bucket list item!

Andrew

Hi Andrew - I'm also on the FSA - I don't know if I can manage the CJP convention but the training is a sure thing. Let's coordinate for October then.
