I am planning on flying out to Tucson in a few weeks to look at a 2015 Lancair Legacy N64YZ. It is a rare bird, Lycoming IO540 powered (99% have Conti's) and fixed gear. You can find it on barnstormers. (thanks David H) edit: http://www.barnstormers.com/classified_ ... CY+FG.htmlAny recommendations for a good pre-buy mechanic in the Tucson area? Attachment: lancair legacy N64YZ.jpg Gary Pennington built this one, it is his 4th or 5th Lancair I think. He knows what he's doing and does excellent work. I know him; I'm based at AVQ and wouldn't hesitate for a minute to buy something he built. I can set you up with the shop on the field if you like, they maintained my Lancair when I owned it so they have at least some familiarity with the type. Let me know when you're in town and we'll see if we can meet up.

Ken, that is great. I am planning on being there the end of July, 20th or 27th, and then stay a few days. What is the shop?

Tucson Aeroservice is the shop on the field and I trust them. Ask for Troy in maintenance when you call: (520) 682-2999. July 20 and the following few days I'll be around. July 27 and the following few days I'll be in Vegas.

I'll second the accolades for Tucson Aeroservice. Ron and Troy do great work. They've got a lot of composite aircraft experience.
