Hi everyone,

I'm looking for flashcards to study, especially the EMB-145.
There are quite a few products avail., some free, some not, some on PC, Ipads, paper, etc...
Aircards seems pretty big. Some are more like a CBT.
Do you have any recommendation or experience with any of these?

Worst case scenario I will do my own on laminated paper or ppt on my phone, but I thought I'd ask!

Thanks!

I have a whole USB stick of EMB-135BJ stuff. What information for the flashcards are you looking for?

Thanks for the reply Ben!

I'm starting the easa t/r in 2 weeks, so I thought I would prepare some flashcards for the test, and then later on when I am more familiar with the plane, some more general flashcards.

I suppose at the moment, limitations are the best thing to learn.

But feel free to tell me what you would recommend!

Doug is spot on.

There are several shops outside the gate at Ft Rucker, AL (Army flight school) they all sell premade flash cards, cheat sheets, etc for every phase of training, subject, and aircraft in the inventory. Guys would go in and buy all their study material.

I always purchased a package of 3x5 unruled index cards and made me own for every phase and different airframes. The process of looking up the material adds to the answer. Did the other guys know the answer, sure. But I feel they didn't climb through the levels of learning finding the info themselves and reading about the systems to get their answers.

I have used a free application called Quizlet. Has a library for the Falcon 2000S and Challenger 605 I used to fly. I am sure they might have the Embraer as well.

Don't get me wrong I'm not looking for a shortcut, and if anything people tend to complain that I go too far in the manuals.
In my previous job(s) I used to make my own flashcards, having been taught that one can not know everything, but one has to know where to find the answer. Though with my lefty handwriting, they looked....very amateur.

I was just thinking that maybe there were some top-notch new stuff that I did not know about for those big airliny pointy thingy.

Recently I've seen a sort of CBT/Flashcard for the 737 (Cockpit Companion I believe) on my friend's iPad, very impressive!

And thanks Jerome, I will look at Quizlet. If they don't have a set, I'll make my own.

Salut Fabien,

I didn't realize you initiated the thread. Quizlet really works well. I didn't find any errors. Frankly its just for limitations and memory items.

Take care.

Luckily there are very few memory items for the Embraer. Like 5 or 6 so that should be pretty easy. I would just focus on memorizing the limitations as that is the only stuff you really need to know without looking up. Everything else is step by step in the QRH. Embraer did a really good job in how they laid out the panels with lists of everything that is controlled on each panel, so there really isn't alot to memorize. If you want to PM your email I can send you a list of all the limitations and Flightsafety diagrams and such if you dont already have that. I fly a Legacy though so all of my stuff is EMB-135BJ.
