It looks like a stretch for both the mustang and phenom 100. I have also flown from Boston (KBED) to KAPF nonstop several times that's close to 1100 miles. Jets look cool.......they are expensive and if I have to make a fuel stop I didn't gain anything.
A buddy of mine bought a 900 and does the same trip (toronto-naples) non stop

Not sure if you have the new gear doors but that will give you an extra 3 knots at altitude. The later model 850 like my 2013 are a few knots faster also. I push her at the top of the recommended line on the G1000... That is just around the 800 deg mark on the ITT. I do a lot of 250-300 nm flights so the TBM works good for me. Im in a lot of 3000-3500' runways and they are not always cleaned on asphalt in the winter. Not the best for a VLJ with no reverser. Username Protected wrote: Marc, My Legacy 850 is 308-10 in winter and more normally in ISA+ 296-302. I'm not convinced the TAS is corrected the same way in the G1000 and the Shadin. Takes -38 or more to get up over 310 for me. I may also not run her ITT as high as you do. I'd like to find your extra knots...

I bet you could subsist on beans, rice, and cheese, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get the steak if that's what you want and can afford...

For exactly the opposite reason, I appreciate having a TP. Even though my M500 costs as much as a nice used Mustang, when friends, family, business associates see it on the ramp, they extrapolate that it is one of those propellor planes, so must cost what 50, 100K?. Don't have to deal with that uncomfortable, how and why are you flying one of those

If you run a company and get a jet, you will have every employee in your office asking for a raise and every client wondering if they pay too much. If you have a turboprop, none of that occurs. Jet = rich, turboprop = practical, whether true or not. Mike C.

I understand this. But I also think there is far too much apologizing for success and its attendant opportunities in our country these days. Perhaps the last few years are wearing in us. I treat my employees very well, create real value for my customers but won't live in fear of their envy. I'd prefer to inspire in them the belief that they too can have the rewards of hard work and sacrifice. I'm looking forward to flying a jet because of the personal challenge. If it causes problems for other people they'll need to find a way to deal with it.

Tony......I agree completely. I have no jealousy of people who have had the balls to believe in themselves and have been able to be successful. We have reached a point where people almost feel the need to apologize for being successful. I know more than my share of silver spoon trust fund babies and yea I get a little irritated when they tell me they had to take Daddy's Lear 31 because the Gulfsream was in the shop and the horrific inconvenience?!? Regardless, thank God this is the USA.....work harder than the next guy and you can be successful.
