I'm not sure the motors really have any value though. No other airframe uses them and none of the planes are near overhaul. Who will be wanting to buy these engines? There are a several Eclipse operators who have already done hot sections, some coming up on overhauls already. I sold a pair of 200 hour motors for $275,000 not too long ago. There aren't many buyers out there for them, but they do exist.

If I had more time and money, I'd pick up a handful of the cheap old Lears and make them Experimental/Exhibition and do a formation acro routine with them. Matt (I think) Younkin did a Lear 23 routine a while back and it was pretty good. Putting 3 or 4 of them in the air at the same time will make some serious noise! Robert

They could use speakers Or fit the engines with afterburners Or Stuka style dive sirens on the tip tanks

Your next purchase would need to be a refinery if you intended to put 3-4 of these things in the air.

yep, that's what i came here to post
love the purchase, but the economics of all of these turning into pumpkins at once may affect the parting out idea, either way, enjoy it and get your moneys worth somehow and don't dwell on the future

EAI finished the fatigue testing on the ETT version and was awarded the life extension from the FAA, but nobody is going to spend millions of dollars doing the testing when there are only 2 or 3 of these planes still flying. Remember, these airplanes were all supposed to be upgraded to ETT by original Eclipse.

There are proper ways to do stupid things. It reminds me of one of my roommates at The University. He'd have made a great engineer, but that's what his Dad wanted him to do and that wasn't happenin' (clue where this could go). He changed majors a couple of times, landing in different Colleges of the univ and they all had different requirements. On his last move, the college required two years of a foreign language. Yea, they were "forcing" him to do something he didn't see any need for... he didn't plan to leave the U S of A, was from South Texas (knowing enough Espanol to get by), clearly understood the need for a single language, and the mother tongue was just fine thankyouverymuch. He couldn't get out of it. So... he discovered Swahili, and took four (4) college semesters of the language. To quote him "If you're going to do something stupid, do it right!". Dan

To quote him "If you're going to do something stupid, do it right!". Dan[/quote] Love this quote. You Texans have an incredible sense of humor. My good friend bought a more recent Eclipse. FIKI, AP, the works. We are having a blast with that thing. It's so cute and fast. Slightly weird MFD and PFD if you are used to Garmin products. Feels like a mini fighter. (I don't know any better of course) Waaayyyyy out of my league, but fun. I have great friends!

Structural mods between the early small tip tank STT and later extended ETT seem limited to the bigger tanks and some aerodynamic fairings, pretty minor stuff. No spars or major sheet metal changed

If I could I'd get me one of them. Don't need much else, maybe an Ultralight or rather a light experimental for really hang it out and hang it loose flying.
For moving along and going places I think the Eclipse is just about where its at for a happy pilot. Somethin like a Paris Jet but much much better.
