But what give the PC12 that utility would be my biggest criticism for the average owner pilot. Most of us owner pilots spend a lot of time flying by ourselves or with a few passengers, on pretty short trips. It was eye opening for me to graph my flights and come up with my average trip length. I would have guessed between 600-1000 nm. While I remember those 1000, 1500, 2000 nm trips as some of my most challenging and fond, 1/3 of my flights are by myself and most on pretty short flights. So flying such a big and relatively expensive bird to acquire, operate and maintain, on such average short and light trips is just a waste of money, fuel, maintenance costs, as well as ramp and hangar space. Otherwise it is a great plane. Probably makes little sense in reality for most owner pilots, but we all optimize our own ideals. So what you're saying is we should all buy MU-2s?

Sounds like you need a JET Charles...........I rarely fly with an empty airplane........hope that never happens, I will miss those 'an airplane full of kids' days............

I don't want a butt in every seat. Even if my plane isn't full I don't want it crammed. I never fly alone. Always several on board.

Another PC12 owner / pilot recommended them when we purchased the airplane and the seat cushion is very comfortable - makes the long flights much easier! Adam(s) Did you guys get the 1/2", 1" or 2" cushion also I assume you chose the straps over the non skid? Pennman - thanks for nothing, I thought we were buds . Now I understand how you can tolerate 6+ hr legs.
John, I have the 2" padding.

How much per hour for Fuel and engine reserves? How much per hour for MX whats your average speed and fuel burn per hour?
I see the benefit for the PC12 over the older jets is operating cost. But its not clear what that is and I wonder if the older the PC12 has more MX and decreases the gap between it and the older jets?
For my plane I ignore fixed cost like capitol, insurance, hangar, annual, etc.. And just look at what it cost me per trip. I see the fixed cost as a biz expense just like a office space or employee. For my Mirage I figure it cost me $375 each way for my 550 mile trip to LA. Thats MOH reserves, fuel, and oil changes
See attached spreadsheet. Maybe someone can copy a line and add the PC12 from their experiance? Note I used Miles instead of NM, I forget why LOL
Mike Using the same instructions as those 3D illusions posters... my understanding is that you need to let your eyes drift out of focus to see the numbers clearly.

Imposter There is only ONE reason that the PC12 is the most used airplane in the GA fleet...........the only imposters are those saying that they can run their airplanes cheaper................. Nobody with that prickly of a beard stays a cunning linguist for long. I wouldn't poke fun of PC12 numbers so much if it was not an item of great interest to me.

Mike viewtopic.php?f=3&t=138602&start=240Check out this thread. We are on engine program which will be ~$150/hr with hrs 0-400 complimentary. 100 hrs are running about $6k and annual this year was about ~$13k. Hangar is ~$14.5/yr. We've had various maintenance items along the way like compressor washes and replacing tires. Tires run about $700 a tire with part and labor included. All in all slightly more expensive than a Piper Cub and certainly more economical than Pennman's Tesla.

Tesla has officially taken over the direction of the car business........now that we have that out of the way.........PC12's...... I'm around $600 per hour direct operating cost and that includes hanger (for Arlen) and insurance.......... unlike Dyer, I'm a better lander so I don't eat up as many tires as he does............he's got a brand new bird, you'd think he'd treat it nicer!!!!!
