I still do not get the logic of the "Denali" name..

….Shortt said Textron was well aware of the Denali name as used in GMC’s Denali line of luxury pickup and SUV automobiles, as well as American Champion’s Denali Scout taildragger. “We made a concerted effort in our naming. We wanted it to reflect back to the product’s rugged, refined beauty in a high-end airplane, and the Alaskan heritage link is intentional,” she said…..

OK, as we could imagine also here on BT in previous threads the airplane will be a new variation on the PC-12 theme..new engine, maybe a bit more performance than the present PC12NG version ( although Pilatus probably will not rest on their laurels in that department)..

approximately same price..

but why not at least from a marketing point of view come up with a unique new name…?

if a "concerted effort" just produced a name which already is used by another GA manufacturer and also a car manufacturer, that does not strike me as much of an effort….

And neither has the "Denali" name trademarked... or is that not possible since it is a place?

Lance Neibauer told me he had to change his company name from Lancer Aircraft to Lancair Aircraft because it was too similar to the car model "Lancer", and Chrysler had a problem with it.

Of course he followed that up with I had to name the company Lancair... because "Alvinair" sounded stupid.

His middle name is Alvin...

not necessarily…maybe a recalibration of your torque sensor and/or ITT may put everything right again….

Gerald, after chatting with Shawn that's my plan. Much appreciated.

Wow.... 257 TAS? That's super low. I wonder if something is out of whack?

I've flown and fly a few different PC12NG's and never seen a cruise at 257.

For your current settings the APP is saying you should be at 26.41psi, burning 379 lbs per hour, and going 256kts....

Your numbers are pretty close, if you adjusted down to 26.4, your fuel and speed would be right on book, you just need to get your ITT adjusted.

The APP distrubted by Pilatus is saying +/- 2kts that in this current condition, this airplane is going to be about 257kts....

Can't see how much fuel is on board in this pic. I generally fly with just what I need to get there. Light vs. heavy can be a 10 knot swing and that has nothing to do with engine settings.

Shawn, what makes you say ITT needs adjusting?

Took off with 2000lbs of fuel, 5 sobs. This was about 30m into the flight after speeds stabilized in cruise.

The only two things that can be adjusted is the ITT and Torque. Your torque is giving you book speed and book fuel flow. Its adjusting the ITT trim stick.

ISA is +17. That affects performance. Would be a lot faster at ISA,

No doubt. I flew yesterday in Florida and it was hot as a firecracker. Still never seen cruise at 258 and I would be at an ITT of 775 or so.

The app takes all that into consideration, at ISA the PC12NG at this altitude and 9500lbs shows a book speed of 270kts.
