For the record I'm on your side that a single turbine is just as safe, but there definitely have been engine failures in these airplanes. I recall there being one in Georgia about a month ago, so saying that their isn't failures is not an accurate statement. But as far as show me coffins, that is a valid argument. More deaths associated with twin failures than these single turbines. As for me I'm a professional pilot so im more than capable of handling an engine failure in a twin because of a lot of training, but the facts show that plenty of people can't say the same.

Ben, which side of the fence you on? You flying at night, with your family, twin or single.......you're the pilot

Username Protected wrote: Odds of failure in a turbine anything are super low, i just prefer a twin. I get both arguments but two of anything is better than one 2X more likely to have a failure in a twin. I believe I'm safer with "less to go wrong". It's the future in aviation..... less to go wrong. Less to break.

Call it what you want but he ended up dead sticking into a field which can be a crap shoot. To answer the questions I've flown everyone in both single and twin airplanes, piston and turbine and never thought twice about any of it. But I also have the opinion that if SHTF I can handle it and will figure it out. I strongly think the argument isn't twin vs single, but pilot vs pilot, training etc. I can handle it cause I train a lot, others will crash.
