I was sure it was done! But seeing that flap still move reminded me of the Terminator scene.
And full data and video all the way. The first ever live coverage of reentry.
Today was a real winner for Spacex.

You just can't get experimental data like that from a ground test, about how a control surface like that would react and burn through on re-entry. I wonder if the other side's control surface did similar or if it was shielded by the body from the highest temps?

Based on the telemetry on the live feed it looks like the ship hovered for a few moments. It appeared to reach 0 velocity and then accelerate to about 40 kmh again. That could be an anomaly in the data, and I never saw the ship engines fire on the telemetry on the feed.
Did they confirm it hovered vertically? If so, that is awesome!

Did they confirm it hovered vertically? If so, that is awesome! I noticed the speed to Zero, then increase again. Maybe that was just angular velocity as it topples over?
