Great to read about your flying, sorry to hear the engine conked out! You sending it to Brian at Arkansas Turbine? He's great guy and will take care of it without taking you to the cleaners.

Yes, I've missed locking them on stops at shutdown a few times, but thankfully on mine it's really easy to get the pumps to lock them back. I'm sure it's similar on yours.

Hope it's not too expensive!

And -1's are getting a little scarce, so prob not a bad idea if you can find a backup engine.

Adam, yes I spoke to Brian, he does have a used -2 engine that can be converted should there be serious issues with this one.

When I had my F model, I bought some Merlin engines just for the peace of mind.

Used to be plenty when all the crop dusters ran them, but they've ran through most of them by now.

There is a -6 STC out there owned by Standard Aero for F models.

Essentially the plane can become a K model except for ACM and some interior vent differences.

Hilgard, sorry for your misfortune. We've had an issue with an engine seal on our Marquise and were surprised by how reasonable the repair was. Hardest part was coordinating logistics to pull the engine and send it in.

Nice write up Hilgard. Thanks for posting! That photo looks like you left it in Fargo? I always found the folks at Fargo Jet Center very helpful.

Thanks for the writeup Hilgard - Based on numerous posts from fellow BTrs, I'm not alone in my persistent fantasizing about an MU2 to replace my piston-twin.

Please continue to keep us posted on your MU2 "adventure" - Hoping the recent turbine issue proves to be minor....Bill

Yes, good eye. We left it at a the Jet Center initially, but now secured space in another MU2 owner's hangar to have the engine pull done on Monday.
